Hi,
I'm Nick Fainbarg, resident producer engineer and operator of Costa Mesa Studios. I work for 2 major audio book publishers and 3 south orange county based Ad agencies. I work WITH these agencies and their creative departments to produce radio ads, radio infomercials and commercial music. I've recorded and edited dozens of best selling books on tape and I've also independently produced and edited over 24 additional books on tape. Second quarter of 2010, I co-produced an 8 disk set for Mark Victor Hansen - From the first day of recording to delivering the masters only 21 days had passed. When I deliver a master, my customers will testify - it's perfect.
Since Dave Luis, a local 'old timer' radio ad producer, moved his Audio Images studio to Hawaii in 2004, I've hosted several hundred voice recording sessions for him in Orange County. He works directly with his clients and talent to schedule recording time and then contacts me directly with the details. When we record, Davey calles into my phone patch number, He's clear as a bell and live with his talent in the room. When He gets the takes he wants, I button up the voice takes and upload the files. Within 5 or so minutes, Davey gets a file link to download the voice takes in Hawaii. It's proven to be the most cost effective way of getting the job done. Consistency is very important to Davey Loo and Davey Loo is a very happy customer. Here's a sample voice take file. Add Widget
Voice Over services:

D) ADR
E) Auditions
Equipment:
1) Neumann u87's, u47, u67, Sennheiser 416's
2) API, Neve
3) Distressors, LA2a, SSL
4) Large voice over room, tight sound
Consistency has proven to be the biggest factor in delivering high quality product. Thus, I typically record voice overs with a vintage u87 right to API 312 preamp. Some voices and situations require a different mic or little bit of eq or perhaps the safety of a compressor, in these cases I'll insert a API 550B and a Distressor. I always recored the same voice the same way - because constancy is the key to producing a polished sound. I store all final voice takes indefinitely.
